State employees in California are now free to make their own decision about funding unions.

In June of 2018 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Janus v. AFSCME, 585 US (2018), that public employees can no longer be required to pay union dues or fees as a condition of employment. The union must earn state employees' support. Unions representing California state employees are below.
